I started using Riplaces when circuit training in the Gym. I have a pretty wide foot so I was worried even the largest bands would be too tight. I wore them for a workout and realized how much time I could save on my Bike/run transitions compared to the current speed laces I was using during triathlons. Running in them is great, they flex a little so your feet have room to breath but there is no chance of your shoe coming loose.
